15th November, 2008

Cento Veljanovski gave one of the keynote presentations at the Inhouse Congress 2008 in Shanghai PRC. He assessed China's new Antimonopoly Law from an economic perspective. In a follow-on session Cento joined a panel which included Graeme Johnston, Managing Partner of Herbert Smith's Shanghai office, providing guidance on the principles and procedures for merger clearance. Cento was also a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) China Antimonopoly Working Group (as was Dr Ian McEwin of Case), and the Hong Kong Competition Law Working Group which both made submissions in the formal consultation process of the relevent authorities.
