David Starkie, Senior Associate, delivered one of 2012’s Beesley Lectures on “The Economics of Transport Infrastructure: Making the right investment decisions” at the IOD on Thursday 4 October. Recent discussions around Heathrow, Boris Island and HS2 have highlighted the controversy around making investment decisions in transportation. This lecture will examine the move to centrally planned infrastructure, and some proposals for adding capacity. The lecture was chaired by Andrew Sentance.
