At the Institute of Economic Affairs on the 5th March Cento Veljanovski gave the first in a series of IEA Law and Economics Seminars. Cento is the IEA Fellow in Law and Economics, and has been recently appointed to the IEA’s Academic Advisory Board. He provided an insight into how European anti-cartel laws have been enforced since 1998 drawing on a detailed statistical analysis of all the European Commission’s decisions and the economics of optimal deterrence.
